Biography Alifanov Nicholas G

Nicholas G. Alifanov (22/07/1912 – 06/02/1986) – fighter pilot, Honored Test Pilot USSR (1963), Hero of Soviet Union (1957), Colonel.

In aviation, in 1932 fought in China. Shot down five Japanese planes. He was seriously wounded.

Participated in the Great Patriotic War in October 1942 commanded the squadron, and then the regiment. Shot down another 4 aircraft and 1 person in the group.

Since September 1944 the test operation (before 1965).

Artem Ivanovich Mikoyan Biography

Artem Ivanovich Mikoyan (23.07 (05.08) .1905 – 9.12.1970), Soviet aircraft designer, Academician of the USSR (1968, Corresponding Member of 1953), Colonel-General engineering services, twice Hero of Socialist Labor (1956, 1957). Member of the CPSU from 1925. Since 1923 worked as a turner, first at the plants in Rostov-on-Don, and later at the Moscow factory "Dinamo". After serving in the Red Army entered (in 1931) in the Air Force Engineering Academy. Zhukovsky. Upon completion of the Academy (1936) worked as a military representative at the aircraft factory, and then deputy chief of Bureau of the plant. Since 1940 the chief designer of Experimental Design Bureau of aircraft construction.

Lazarev, Vasily Grigorievich (23.02.1928 – 31.12.1990) was born February 23, 1928 in the village Poroshina Kytmanovskogo district of the Altai Territory in a peasant family. School years spent in Sverdlovsk (now – Ekaterinburg). From childhood dream of heaven.

Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova (3/6/1937) – The world's first woman astronaut. Born in the village Maslennikovo Tutayev district of the Yaroslavl region in the family farmers. His father worked as a tractor driver and his mother was the household, worked on the farm. During the Great Patriotic War, his father was killed at the front, and a mother with three children moved to the city of Yaroslavl. There little Valya went to school. She graduated from school seven years, and then night school for working youth. At the end of June 1954 came to work at the Yaroslavl Tire Plant in the assembly shop cutter.

Fedorov Evgeny Petrovich (12/28/1911) – Pilot bomber, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General Aviation (1957). Member of the Soviet-Finnish war. Flew 24 sorties. Participated in the Great Patriotic War from July 1941, he commanded a squadron of 98 apdd 750 (3 dc). Apdd was deputy. Commander 2 addd. In September 1942, participated in a raid on Berlin.

Kokkinaki Vladimir Konstantinovich (12 (25) .06.1904), Distinguished Test Pilot of the USSR (1959), Major General Aviation (1943), twice Hero of the Soviet Union (17. 7. 1938 and 09.17.1957), Honored Master of Sports (1959 ). Member of the CPSU in 1938. He was born in a railway.

In the Red Army in 1925. He graduated from Sts flying school (1930). In the 1931-65 test pilot. Since 1932 began to study high-altitude flights.

Biography Kozheduba Ivan Nikitovich

Kozhedub Ivan Nikitovich (06/08/1920), a Soviet pilot, Colonel-General (29/04/1970), thrice Hero of the Soviet Union (02/04/1944, 08/19/1944, 18/08/1945). Member of the CPSU since 1943. Born to Ukrainian peasant. In 1940 he graduated from the Chemical Engineering College.

In the Soviet Army in February 1940. He graduated Chuguyivske Military Aviation School (1941), after which – the instructor-pilot military aviation school pilots (1941-42). In the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45 contributed to the March 1943 on the Voronezh, Steppe, 2-m and 1 Ukrainian-Byelorussian Front, was a senior pilot, flight commander, aircraft squadron and deputy commander of Fighter Regiment.

Biography of Andrei Nikolaevich Tupolev

Andrei Nikolayevich Tupolev (29.10 (10.11) .1888 – 12.23.1972), Soviet aircraft designer, academician of the USSR (1953), Colonel-General Engineer (1968), three times Hero of Socialist Labor (1945, 1957, 1972). In 1908 he entered the Moscow Higher Technical School (Moscow Higher Technical School), where under the guidance of Zhukovsky began to engage in aeronautical study, participated in the construction of a glider, which made its first flight. After graduation (1918), together with Zhukovsky was the organizer and one of the leaders of hydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI). In 1918 – 1935 Deputy Head of the Institute. In 1922 he formed as part of TsAGI and headed the experimental design bureau, whose activity was associated with the development of severe land, sea combat and civilian aircraft, torpedo boats and the sled. In 1922 – 1924 directed the work on implementation duralyumina in aircraft, in 1924 – 1925 created the ANT-2 and ANT-3 – the first Soviet all-metal aircraft. Using duralyumina in the construction of aircraft allowed Tupolev first in the country to move from biplane to monoplane cantilever. Tupolev developed more than 100 types of aircraft, 70 of which were issued serially. At the Tupolev aircraft won 78 world records, holds 28 unique flights, including rescue boat crew Cheliuskin on ANT-4, non-stop flights to the U.S. via the North Pole crew VPChkalov and Gromov on ANT -25, landing a scientific expedition "North Pole", headed by ID Papanin. A large number of bombers, torpedo bombers, scouts designed by Tupolev (TB-1, TB-3, SB, TB-7, MTB-2, W-2) and torpedo boats H-4, F-5 was used in the fighting in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 – 1945. In the postwar years under the leadership of Tupolev developed a number of military and civilian aircraft, including the 1-st Soviet jet bomber Tu-12 (1947), Tu-16, 1-th jet airliner TU-104 (1954), 1-st turboprop intercontinental airliner Tu-114 (1957), Tu-124, Tu-134, Tu-154. Created as a number of supersonic aircraft, including passenger Tu-144. Tupolev – Honorary Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society of Great Britain (1970) and the American Institute of Aviation and Space (1971). In 1958, Tupolev was awarded the Gold Medal. Zhukovsky "For the best work on the theory of aviation." Awarded as the Great Gold Medal FAI Prize. Leonardo da Vinci (Italy), the gold medal of the founders of Aviation (France) and other awards. Member of CEC 7-th convocation. Member of the Supreme Soviet 3-8-th convocations. Lenin Prize (1957), USSR State Prize (1943, 1948, 1949, 1952, 1972). He was awarded eight orders of Lenin, 6 other awards, medals, and 2 foreign orders.

Biography Grandma Mikhail Sergeyevich

Grandma Mikhail Sergeyevich (1893 – 18.5.1938), the Soviet polar pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union (June 27, 1937). A member of the CPSU since 1935. Born in the village Bordin Moscow province, near the village Losinoostrovsky (in 1939-60 – PM Grandma, now part of Moscow). In 1914 enlisted in the army, graduated from the Gatchina military aviation school in 1915 received the rank of airman and was retained as an instructor, Warrant (1917). In 1920, in the guerrilla army in the Civil War, discharged in 1923, was admitted to the Civil Air Fleet, and served in the Arctic. In 1928 participated in the search for Nobile expedition, in 1933 participated in the expedition icebreaker Cheliuskin, in 1935 – in high-latitude expedition icebreaker "Sadko". Biography Grytsevtsya Sergei Ivanovich

Gritsevets Sergey Ivanovich (07.06.1909 – 16.09.1939), the pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union (22/2/1939 and 29/08/1939), Major (1938). A member of the CPSU since 1931. Born in the village of Borovets, Grodno province in a peasant family, Belarusian. In the Soviet Army in 1931. He graduated from military school Orenburg Pilot (1932) and School of Air Combat (1936). Served in the fighter pilot, flight commander, detachment, and instructor-pilot. Participated as a volunteer in the Spanish Civil War in 1936-38 and in battles against Japanese invaders in the region. Khalkhin-Gol (1939). Personally shot down over 40 enemy aircraft. Awarded the Order of Lenin. He was killed while on duty near the village of Vitebsk region Bolbasovo BSSR.
