Biography Tributs Vladimir Filippovich

Vladimir Filipovich Tributs (15 (28) .07.1900), Soviet military commander, Admiral (1943), Doctor of Historical Sciences (1972).

Member of the CPSU since 1928. In the navy in February 1918. Participated in the Civil War 1918 – 1920 in the Astrakhan and the Volga-Caspian flotilla and naval forces of the Caspian Sea.

He graduated from the Naval School. Frunze (1926) and the Naval Academy (1932). In 1926 – 1929 and 1932 – 1936 he served on warships of the Baltic Fleet.

In February 1938 – April 1939 Chief of Staff, the Baltic Fleet. From April 1939 to 1947 commanded the Baltic Fleet, successfully guiding its actions during World War II 1941 – 1945 sea lanes in the defense of Tallinn, Moonzund of Islands, Hanko, Leningrad, breaking the blockade of Leningrad and the liberation of the Baltic states.

In 1947 – 1948 Deputy. Chief of the troops of the Far East for the navy, then in leadership positions in the Navy and the Ministry of Defence of the USSR. Since February 1961, retired.

He was awarded two Orders of Lenin, Order of October Revolution, 4 Red Banner, two Orders of Ushakov 1-th degree, Order of Nakhimova 1-th degree, Order of Red Star and medals.
