Sukhomlinov Vladimir Alexandrovich (04 (16) .08.1848 – 02.02.1926), Russian military figure, General of Cavalry (1906).
He graduated from the Nikolaev Cavalry School (1867) and the General Staff Academy (1874). Participated in the Russian-Turkish War 1877 – 1878, commanded a cavalry regiment and division, was the chief Officers Cavalry School (1886 – 1897).

Sukhomlinov was a clever courtier and reactionary, which contributed to his career. If it were the military reforms of 1905 – 1912, but the army was unprepared for a long war.
