Biography Sukhoi Pavel Osipovich

Sukhoi Pavel Osipovich (10 (22) .07.1895 – 15.09.1975), Soviet aircraft, twice Hero of Socialist Labor (1957, 1965), Ph.D. (1940), Chief Designer (1956). Dry – a participant of the competition of the draft "Ivanov" (1937 – 1939), ending the creation of multi-purpose combat aircraft Su-2. In 1939 Sukhoi – the main designer experienced in size. In 1942 – 1943 created an armored attack aircraft Su-6. Dry – one of the founders of jet and supersonic aircraft. They are designed jets Su-9, Su-15 and others with turbojet engines, supersonic fighter aircraft with swept delta wing. On the plane T-431 and T-405 Sukhoi design with 2 world records for altitude (1959, 1962) and 2 world records for flight speed along a closed route (1960, 1962). Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 5 – 8-th convocations. Two USSR State Prize, the Lenin Prize. He was awarded three Orders of Lenin, four other orders, as well as medals.
