Biography Shchorsa Nikolai Alexandrovich

Schors Nikolai Alexandrovich (25.05 (06.06) .1895 – 8.30.1919), Civil War hero of 1918 – 1920.

A member of the Communist Party since 1918. He was born in the railway engineer. He graduated from the military medical school in Kiev (in 1914) and a crash course in Vilnius military school in Poltava (in 1916).

Member of the 1 st World War II 1914 – 1918, the first military nurse, and then a junior officer in the South-Western Front, in 1917 lieutenant.

After the October Revolution of 1917 he returned to his homeland and in February 1918 in Snovske created a guerrilla army in March-April, the joint command of the detachment Hovozybkovskogo county, which is composed of the 1 st of the revolutionary army took part in battles against the Germanic invaders. In September 1918 formed in the area of separation Unecha guerrilla units 1-st Ukrainian Soviet regiment them. Bogun.

In October-November commanded Boguns'kyi regiment in the battle with the Germanic invaders and GETMANTSEV, from November 1918 – 2 Brigade 1 st Ukrainian Soviet divisions (Boguns'kyi and Tarashchansky shelves), which liberated the Chernigov, Kiev and Ukrainian troops from Fastow directories.

February 5, 1918 Schors was appointed commander of Kiev and was awarded the Provisional Workers 'and Peasants' Government of Ukraine honorable weapon. From 6 March to 15 August 1919 Schors commanded the 1-st Ukrainian Soviet Division, which during rapid onset freed from Petlurites Zhitomir, Vinnitsa, Zhmerinka, defeated the main forces in the area Petlurites Sarna-Exactly-Brody-Proskurov, and then the summer of 1919 staunchly defended in the area of Sarno Novograd-Volyn-Shepetivka troops from the Polish and Petlurites, but was forced under the pressure of superior forces to retreat to the east.

On August 21, 1919 Schors – Commander of the 44 th Infantry Division (it joined 1-I, Ukrain. Owls. Division), which persistently defended Korostens'kyi railway hub, which ensured the evacuation of Kiev and out of the encirclement of the Southern Group of 12 th Army.

Being in advanced circuits Boguns'kogo Regiment Schors was killed. Schors proved himself a talented military leader, showed samples of troop leadership in the battle, distinguished personal courage, skill trained and inspired fighters.
