Biography Petlyakova Vladimir Mikhailovich

Petlyakov Vladimir Mikhailovich (15 (27) .06.1891 – 12.01.1942), a Soviet aircraft. In 1922 he graduated from the Moscow Higher Technical School (Moscow Higher Technical School) them. Bauman. In 1917-18 worked as a technician at the aerodynamic laboratory MVTU under the leadership of Zhukovsky, in 1921-36 – in the Central Aerohydrodynamical Institute (TsAGI), led by AN Tupolev, 1936 – chief designer at an aircraft factory. Petlyakov directly involved in the organization and development of metallic aircraft in the Soviet Union, particularly in 1925-35, together with the design engineer VN Belyaev developed methods of calculating strength and has developed a theory of designing metal mnogolonzheronnyh wings. Oversaw the creation and implementation into production of the first heavy bomber TB-1 and TB-3 (1930-35), high-altitude pyatimotornogo bombers Pe-8 (1935-37), a dive bomber Pe-2 (1939-40). State Award USSR (1941). He was awarded two Orders of Lenin and the Order of the Red Star.
