Biography of William Berkgoltsa

Berkgolts Wilhelm – Holstein nobleman, lieutenant-general in the Russian service. I arrived in Russia around 1709 to the rank of Major General and stayed there for about 5 years. Despite a short stay, he left behind him the memory of his contemporaries, as one of the bravest and best educated Russian generals. Maintaining while Russia War – North and Turkish enabled him to double-differences: 1) in 1710, during the siege of Vyborg, and 2) in 1711, in reflection attacks Turkish troops on the Russian camp at p. Prut. For his bravery and the formation of BN enjoyed the love and the great reformer.
