Biography of Michael G. Lysenko

Lysenko, Mikhail G. (16 (29) .10.1906 – 05/08/1972), American sculptor and folk artist of the USSR (1963), full member AH the USSR (1970).

Member of the CPSU from 1948. He studied at the Kharkiv Art Institute (1926 – 1931). Taught at Kiev Art Institute (from 1944 and Professor from 1947).

Works: Group at the cemetery of Soviet soldiers "Hill of Fame" in Lvov (bronze, 1947), a monument NA Shchorsa in Kiev (et al, bronze, 1949 – 1954), a monument to Lenin in Zaporizhzhya (together with NM Suhodolovym, bronze, 1964), Pam. VP Zatonsky in Khmelnytsky (granite, 1969), a portrait of PP Vershigory (plexiglas, 1971).

He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of Labor Red Banner and medals.
