Biography Montferrand August Avgustovich
Montferrand August Avgustovich (01/24/1786 – 6.28 (10.07) .1858), Russian architect, decorator and designer. By origin French. He studied at the Ecole Polytechnique and from the architects Sh Persians and P. Fontaine in Paris. From 1816 he worked in Russia, in Peteburge. Creativity Montferrand marks the transition from late Classicism to eclecticism. Works: Isaac's Cathedral, Alexander Column, House Lobanov-Rostov (1817 – 1820), finishing Fieldmarshal, Petrovsky, and page of the round hall of the Winter Palace (1827 – beg. 1830.)
